Insurance company comparison

Put two companies side by side on the facts we have verified, with the source for each one and an explicit gap where we have not verified something.

What it needs from you
Two companies, and optionally one insurance line
What you get back
Their verified facts side by side, with a source on every cell

Only lines both companies write.

Pick two companies

Choose a company in each of the first two boxes and their verified facts appear here side by side, each one with the source it came from. Nothing is scored and neither company is named as better.

Methodology

How this tool works, and what it will not tell you

This tool calls exactly the same comparison function the published comparison pages call, over the same list of comparable fields, so the two can never disagree with each other. A field appears when at least one of the two companies has a verified fact for it. Where a company has no verified fact, the cell reads "Not verified" rather than being filled in or quietly dropped: an absence in our research is not evidence about the company. A row is marked as differing only when both sides are verified and the values actually disagree once formatting is normalized, so a list written in a different order is not counted as a difference. Nothing here is scored, weighted or ranked, and no company is named as better. This tool produces no premium, no quote and no savings figure. Pricing depends on rate filings and underwriting data this site does not hold, so any number we printed there would be invented. We would rather show you the arithmetic we can stand behind.

Assumptions

  • Both companies are read from the same evidence store as the rest of the site, through the same gated accessor.
  • Fields that always differ between two companies, such as a website address, are excluded because counting them would inflate the difference count without telling anyone anything.
  • Where you pick an insurance type, the state availability row is scoped to that type.

Limitations

  • Research depth varies by company. A company with a partial profile will show many unverified cells, and that says more about our research than about the company.
  • No price, no premium and no quote. Two companies quoting the same person can differ a great deal, and this tool has no visibility into that.
  • It does not weigh the fields against each other. Which differences matter is your judgment, not an output.
  • A comparison here is not the same thing as a published comparison page. Those exist only for pairs where both profiles are complete and enough fields actually differ.

This tool cites no outside source, because it adds up the numbers you type and nothing else. Where a figure comes from somewhere, the figure carries the citation.
